A Quiet Space in your Home

You should create a quiet space to know God.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
-Psalm 46:10

This world can pretty much drown out any knowledge of the Holy.

Every day is a gift from God.

A quiet place reassures you that He lives.  A quiet place also reassures you that God cares about you personally.

You can create a quiet space anywhere in your home.  Whether you live in an apartment, studio or living with a relative, creating a space of solitude can be rejuvenation for your life.

Here are a few ways to create simple quiet spaces:

1.  Your night table can serve as a quiet space right next to your bed.  .You could simply add a Bible and a few inspirational books as well as pen and paper for notes.  When you awake in the morning, you are already in your quiet space!

2. Your patio can also serve as a quiet space.  Nature is a wonderful place to be when you want to get quiet and a patio is usually outside.  Adding a few plants and a small table for your Bible and a few books will lend to a peaceful place.

3.  A chair in the den can also serve as a quiet space.  The thing about using a family den is getting in the space early in the morning before anyone else gets up.

4.  The breakfast table or the dining room can also be used as a place to retreat to to have a few moments of solitude.

5.  Dad or mom's office can turn into a quiet space. Sometimes the family office works as a good quiet space...you just have to turn off all the computers and gadgets and stuff.

And here are a few verses to encourage you to seek the Lord and gain a knowledge of the Holy:

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord,...-2 Chronicles 20:3

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. -Psalm 9:10

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. -Psalm 14:2

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. -Psalm 27:8

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. -Psalm 27:8

As Christians, Christ leaves us this example from His own life in the book of Mark:

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.- Mark 1:35

After Church Activity: Watercoloring My View

Hey Everyone!

Can you believe tomorrow is September?

Time waits for no one.

...and time has flown by this year.

Today for this post, I want to share with you one of the activities that I sometimes do after church.

One of the things that I used to do with my daughters after church when they were younger was to bring their little sketch pads and colored pencils to a local park.  We would sit on a blanket and draw whatever we saw in nature.

And recently, we took our youngest (the last in the nest) to a nearby lake after church and we water colored.

Yep, we water colored our view.

Just a little simple relaxation thing that we do after church sometimes.

Do you have any after church activities that you do or that you do with your family and children?

Let me know in the comment section below!
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Psalm 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

Jesus, the sweetest Name I know

I heard an old old story.

It was about how a Saviour came from glory.

The story was about how He gave His life on calvary to save a wretch like me.

I heard about His groaning...of His precious blood atoning.

Then I repented of my sins and got baptised...

And I won the victory.

O victory in Jesus,

My Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him,

And all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing...and then I experienced it in my own life.  Yes, Jesus healed me!

I heard of His cleansing power revealing.

I heard about how He made the lame to walk again

And caused the blind to see..

And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,

Come and heal my broken spirit,"

And somehow Jesus came and brought

To me the victory.

I heard about a mansion

He has built for me in glory.

And I heard about the streets of gold

Beyond the crystal sea;

About the angels singing,

And the old redemption story,

And some sweet day I'll sing up there

The song of victory.

O victory in Jesus,

My Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me

With His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him,

And all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory,

Beneath the cleansing flood.

...this is my story.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. -1 Corinthians 15:57

The Source of All Joy

Yesterday my third daughter graduated from High School! Yay!

We had a great time with family and friends and festivities!

This morning I was reading the book, The Desire of Ages and came across the words in the photo above.

Why did I like this quote so much?

Because Christ is my joy!  everyday. all day.

And the beauty of Christ is His love and His joy is available to you too!

Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

So Thankful

I just want to Praise the Lord for Everything that He has done for me! I will be heading to my oldest daughter's graduation from college this weekend. Glory to God!

I thought the above photo of her was a very cool shot!
Majesty, worship His majesty

Unto Jesus, be all glory, honor and praise

Majesty, Kingdom authority

Flows from His throne Unto His own, His anthem raise

So exalt, lift up on high the Name of Jesus

Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King

Majesty, worship His majesty

Jesus who died, now glorified

King of all kings

Jesus who died, now glorified

Jesus who died, now glorified

King of all kings
