The Source of All Joy

Yesterday my third daughter graduated from High School! Yay!

We had a great time with family and friends and festivities!

This morning I was reading the book, The Desire of Ages and came across the words in the photo above.

Why did I like this quote so much?

Because Christ is my joy!  everyday. all day.

And the beauty of Christ is His love and His joy is available to you too!

Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Why It's Not All Good...

 I am going to link up with the 5 minute Friday women and write for five minutes.

Here it goes...
It's not all good because everything out there is not good.

There is a lot of good things out there but they are not all good.

You see I used to say "It's all good" all the time.

Until one day I heard someone explain that everything out there is not all good.

Wait...

I am 100 percent into freedom of choice and that everyone on the planet should exercise their God-given right to live as they please.

But, that doesn't mean that everything that someone does is "all good".  ...including myself.

I totally get that no one is perfect.

But a Way has been made that when we do things that are not all that good ---things can be rectified...forgiven.  you know...

There is only One that is good.  He is all good and only good.

Actually the Bible says it best that He is "Abundant in goodness"!

Exodus 34:6 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

When Life is Draining...

Sometimes life is draining. I don't need to list all the things that are draining to you because you know what they are.  I certainly know what drains me.

And when you are drained, you need to be refilled.

Everytime I get to that point in life, I look to the Only Source I know, Jesus.

I sometimes claim this promise in Isaiah:

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

And every. time. the good Lord looks upon me and gives me strength to keep going.

What do you do when life drains you?

Here are a few verses for you when you feel as though you have no more strength:

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. -1 Chronicles 16:11

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.-2 Samuel 22:33

Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. -Job 4:4

His Precious Thoughts for me

Do you ever think about that God has thoughts about you?

He is thinking positive thoughts about you. I just read the verse in Jeremiah that says He is thinking thoughts of peace and not of evil.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

When I read it it just kinda did something to my thinking.  I mean here is the Creator of everything thinking thoughts of peace and good things for me.  The verse continues on to say that He will give me an expected end.

I certainly have things that I want to turn out a certain way.  So to think that He wants things to turn out even better than what I can think is kinda mind blowing to me.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Psalm 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. .

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. -Isaiah 55:8

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. -Jeremiah 29:11
