Rest

Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

I hope that you enjoy your weekend!

Consider the Handiwork of the Master Artist

Recently I read these words in the Bible:
Consider the work of God, for who can make that straight which He hath made crooked?
 -Ecclesiastes 7:13

I then thought about other places in the Bible that says to "Consider".  And I started to consider.

Sometimes when I see the various colors that the Master Artist uses in nature, I am speechless. The rich purples and vibrant yellows are such cheerful colors!

Do you ever consider the handiwork of the Master Artist?

It is beautiful and amazing!

I considered consider so much that I looked up the definition and found 5 explanations.  Here are those five explanations:

1. to think carefully about, especially in order to make a decision; contemplate; reflect on: He considered the cost before buying the new car.
2. to regard as or deem to be: . I consider the book is true.
3. to think, believe, or suppose: We consider her reply satisfactory.
4. to bear in mind; make allowance for: The cost was justified if you consider the quality of the material.
5. to pay attention to; regard: He considered the man for some time before inviting him to speak.

Matthew 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

His Precious Thoughts for me

Do you ever think about that God has thoughts about you?

He is thinking positive thoughts about you. I just read the verse in Jeremiah that says He is thinking thoughts of peace and not of evil.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

When I read it it just kinda did something to my thinking.  I mean here is the Creator of everything thinking thoughts of peace and good things for me.  The verse continues on to say that He will give me an expected end.
I certainly have things that I want to turn out a certain way.  So to think that He wants things to turn out even better than what I can think is kinda mind blowing to me.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Psalm 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. .

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. -Isaiah 55:8

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. -Jeremiah 29:11

Morning!

But before breakfast happened, I had devotion.  I am reading the book of Proverbs, Psalms and John. I read chapter 19 of each book.  I then had prayer and then fixed breakfast.

This post was a part of a link up with Our Project 52, but they have deleted that link up so the link has been removed.

Have a great week!

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  - Lamentations 3:22-23

Collegiate and Artful

So the Christmas break is just about ending.  My oldest daughter is soon to return to her college life as well as my second oldest.  So it will be two children home with their two parents.  Sometimes I get the fun privilege of perusing through my daughter's photos from college.  Yes, that actually happens...ha! ha!

I really think my daughter has a photographer's eye for capturing great photos.

She let me post a photo of her dorm room while she was in the process of decorating her room with paper chains and a map that she simply cut up and taped it to the wall.  I thought it was cute and unique.

And something that I thought was really cool was she and her friends chalk drawings on the sidewalk.  Who knew that college kids could find great fun in writing with chalk on the sidewalk?

Collegiate and artistic!

Daniel 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Day 9 - Have you been in awe lately?

I finally captured a photo of a rainbow today. Yay!!  I  was starting to wonder why I never got a photo of  a rainbow in the sky.  Well, today was my day and thankfully my phone was charged.

Because I worked today, I am too tired to draw a rainbow so I am going to post this long awaited picture that I got today.

Let's talk about the rainbow for a minute, shall we?

After work today, nature decided to pour down a ton of rain.  It rained so hard that I put on my hazard lights because it was very blurry trying to see through the downpour.

I asked the Lord to stop the rain.  Although the rain didn't stop immediately, it did let up a bit.  Then it was back to the downpour.

What gave me a bit of hope was the clear clouds that I saw in the sky up ahead and I knew the rain would stop eventually.

And praise the Lord it did finally stop.  I do not like driving in rain and especially a whole lot of rain.

Well, fast forward to further down the highway after the rain, and what do I see?  Yes, girl a rainbow!!!  Let's scream together! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

And then I thought about  "being in awe of the Most High God".

...because quietly and majesticly, the rainbow appeared.

I was in awe because there it was.  The promise.  Right before my eyes.

Have you been in awe lately by Him?

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 1

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.  -Genesis 9:11-17
