Psalm 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters
Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Mark 6:39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
The Hebrew word for green is yarok. It is said that yarok also means yellow and gold.
My thoughts:
From the three verses above, I see green as being associated with peace, prosperity and assurance. I say assurance because when the grass turns green, I have the assurance that it will be plush. I can't say that about sitting on brown grass because I would most certainly believe it would be crunchy and hard.
I had never really thought about the color green being in the Bible until I started teaching my daughter the 23rd Psalms.
Psalm 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures...
The color green just kinda jumped out at me for the first time one day while we were going over some sight words.
That is one of the beautiful things about reading the Bible - you can read the same verse for years and then one day you see something in a totally new way.
So this concludes my thoughts on the color green in the Bible. The next color that I will post on will be black.

Jeremiah 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
